MOTIVATION

I started a strength training plan today. I actually SIGNED up and SHOWED up for an 8 week

program. This is not a new concept for me. I’m a classic yo-yo. I’ll spend a weekend eating like a truffle pig then feel very remorseful and have an urgent need to drive to a local gym and sign my life away only to quit in 2 months. I hide the self-loathing and utter dismay internally but, externally, I will wake up my friendly, always hungry, truffle pig and wreak havoc at the ice cream shop once again. An endless loop ... and to make it even more cruel let’s add in a sprinkle of menopause.

Now, though I’m armed and ready for battle. I’ve been stockpiling my armory for months now between reducing stress and finding the best job ever to slapping on hormone patches and gels and finally starting Zepbound. I have the best nutritionist who keeps me on track. The last piece of armor I needed to wage my personal war against menopause was, the dreaded word,(suspenseful music plays...) EXERCISE!! The crowd groans.

When I imagine exercise, I see the beautiful people running and running; no sweating, perfectly matched outfits, smiling, taking in all nature has to offer. Then I think of that truffle pig stuffing herself into leggings and moisture wicking shirts attempting to run up that hill. Not even Kate Bush’s music is that motivating for me.

Well I’m now on week 3 of Zepbound and constantly in fear of waking up to a sagging face

lacking any muscle. Yes, that is my motivation. Is it vanity? Maybe a bit if I have to be honest.

But, whatever the motivation, I signed the contract, printed out a very elaborate schedule of

exercises and committed to being stronger.

So, for you at home feeling discouraged because you have no energy, no motivation to get out of the hole you made in your couch come see us and get your hormones checked. The rest will come in time. And, Britbox will always be there.

I went, I attacked and now I have a plan. And I got a free t-shirt. If that’s not motivation I’m not

sure what is.
